The Greatness of Viṣṇu
Viṣṇor Māhātmya
भक्त्या कुर्वन्ति ये विष्णोः प्रदक्षिणचतुष्टयम् । तेऽपि यान्ति परं स्थानं सर्वकर्मनिबर्हणम् ॥ ७१ ॥
bhaktyā kurvanti ye viṣṇoḥ pradakṣiṇacatuṣṭayam | te'pi yānti paraṃ sthānaṃ sarvakarmanibarhaṇam || 71 ||
Те, кто с преданностью совершают четыре обхода (прадакшину) вокруг Господа Вишну, также достигают высшей обители, уничтожающей все остатки кармы.
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that even a simple, embodied act of devotion—four pradakshinas around Viṣṇu—can lead to the supreme goal because bhakti has the power to erase accumulated karmic bondage.
Bhakti is shown as accessible and effective: sincere devotion expressed through worshipful movement (pradakṣiṇa) is itself a liberating practice, not merely a preliminary ritual.
Ritual procedure (kalpa-prayoga) is implied: pradakṣiṇa is performed keeping the deity on one’s right, and the verse specifies a counted observance (catuṣṭaya—four rounds), reflecting disciplined worship rather than abstract theory.
