Nārada’s Hymn to Viṣṇu
Nāradasya Viṣṇu-stavaḥ
श्रीराम विष्णो नरसिंह वामन प्रद्युम्न संकर्षण वासुदेव । अजानिरुद्धामलरुङ् मुरारे त्वं पाहि नः सर्वभयादजस्रम् ॥ ११ ॥
śrīrāma viṣṇo narasiṃha vāmana pradyumna saṃkarṣaṇa vāsudeva | ajāniruddhāmalaruṅ murāre tvaṃ pāhi naḥ sarvabhayādajasram || 11 ||
О Шри Рама, о Вишну — Нарасимха, Вамана; о Прадьюмна, Санкаршана, Васудева; о Анируддха, Непорочный; о Мурари, победитель Муры — непрестанно защити нас от всякого страха.
Sūta (narrating a devotional invocation within the Narada Purana frame)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It functions as a fear-dispelling protective invocation (stuti) that gathers Viṣṇu’s avatāras and the caturvyūha forms into one act of surrender, emphasizing that remembrance of Hari’s names removes both outer dangers and inner anxiety.
Bhakti here is expressed as nāma-smaraṇa and śaraṇāgati—calling the Lord by revered names and forms and asking for constant protection, showing that devotion is sustained reliance on Viṣṇu rather than mere one-time prayer.
The verse mainly illustrates mantra-prayoga (practical recitation) rather than a technical Vedāṅga lesson; its takeaway is disciplined japa of Viṣṇu-nāmas as a daily protective practice aligned with Purāṇic dharma.
