FAQs

It highlights discernment (viveka) in ritual life: even during a yajña, one must understand the intent and consequence of a gift (dāna) and act according to dharma-informed judgment rather than impulse.

Indirectly, it contrasts worldly calculation with surrender: the narrative setting commonly points toward moments where divine purpose overrides human strategy—showing that ultimate outcomes align with the higher will, a key theme supporting Vishnu-centered bhakti teachings.

Ritual prudence connected to Kalpa (procedure of yajña and dāna rules): the verse assumes that gifts in a sacrifice are regulated acts with consequences, requiring correct judgment about eligibility and timing.
