जल त्यक्त्वा प्रधावन्ति क्रोशमाना: परस्परम् । “अर्जुन! कितने ही योद्धा पानी लानेके लिये गये
jalaṁ tyaktvā pradhāvanti krośamānāḥ parasparam |
Санджая сказал: Бросив воду, они метались во все стороны, перекликаясь и вопя друг другу. Эта картина обнажает жестокость и тщету, которые рождает война: даже попытки спасти жизнь приходят слишком поздно, и скорбь подавляет долг; вернувшиеся с водой, увидев своих родичей лежащими без чувств, швыряли воду тут же и носились вокруг, стеная и крича от горя.
