प्रियो मे5यं प्रियोडस्पाहमिति सम्प्रेक्ष्य बुद्धिमान् वयस्यायैवमक्लिष्टं दानं दद्यादतन्द्रित:
priyo me ’yaṃ priyo ’smy aham iti samprekṣya buddhimān vayasyāyaivam akliṣṭaṃ dānaṃ dadyād atandritaḥ
Бхишма сказал: Размышляя: «Он мне дорог, и я дорог ему», мудрый должен, отбросив леность, охотно и без тяготы в сердце одарить друга. Таково дарение, побуждаемое личной привязанностью и желанием угодить (дарение, основанное на kāmanā).
