Duḥṣanta–Śakuntalā: Gandharva Marriage and Succession Condition
सेनाबिन्दुरिति ख्यात: स बभूव नराधिप: । इषुपान्नाम यस्तेषामसुराणां बलाधिक:
senābindur iti khyātaḥ sa babhūva narādhipaḥ | iṣupād nāma yas teṣām asurāṇāṃ balādhikaḥ ||

वैशम्पायन उवाच
The passage frames political power and worldly might as part of a larger cosmic cycle: beings of Asuric nature can be born among humans as kings, implying that lineage and rulership may carry moral tendencies that must be disciplined by dharma.
Vaiśampāyana continues a catalog describing how various Asuras took birth on earth as human rulers; in this verse he identifies Senābindu as a king and notes Iṣupād as the strongest among those Asuras, setting up his corresponding human manifestation in the surrounding narration.
