Jyotish-chakra: Surya’s Motion and Monthly Retinues

Suta Goswami (narrating the Linga Purana to the sages of Naimisharanya)
By listing varied beings arising in creation, the verse supports the Shaiva view that all categories—celestial, demonic, and animal—are within the Lord’s (Pati’s) domain; Linga worship centers the devotee on that all-governing Shiva beyond such distinctions.
Shiva-tattva is implied as the sovereign principle over manifestation: even contrasting forms (apsarās, yātudhānas, serpent, tiger) arise within a single cosmic order upheld by Pati, while individual souls (pashu) experience those forms under bondage (pāśa).
No specific puja-vidhi is stated; the takeaway aligns with Pashupata Yoga’s discipline of seeing all phenomena as governed by Pati, reducing aversion/attachment and orienting the pashu toward liberation through Shiva-centered contemplation.
