Daily Duties of Brāhmaṇas: Snāna, Sandhyā, Sūrya-hṛdaya, Japa, Tarpaṇa, and the Pañca-mahāyajñas

देवेभ्यस्तु हुतादन्नाच्छेषाद् भूतबलिं हरेत् / भूतयज्ञः स वै ज्ञेयो भूतिदः सर्वदेहिनाम्

devebhyastu hutādannāccheṣād bhūtabaliṃ haret / bhūtayajñaḥ sa vai jñeyo bhūtidaḥ sarvadehinām

После того как пища принесена в священный огонь богам, из остатка следует отделить подношение (bali) для живых существ. Это и есть Бхута-ягья (Bhūta-yajña), дарующая благо всем воплощённым.
