It introduces the Sāma-Veda ritual procedure (Sāma-vidhāna): recitation (japa) of the Vaiṣṇavī Saṃhitā followed by fire-offerings (homa), and a specific śānti-homa by offering to the Śāntātīya gaṇa for attaining peace.
It shows the text functioning as a ritual handbook: it transitions from Yajur-vidhāna to Sāma-vidhāna, cataloging Vedic applications (mantra-recitation, homa targets, desired results) alongside other domains elsewhere in the Purāṇa.
The verse frames homa and mantra-japa as result-bearing acts: the Vaiṣṇavī Saṃhitā practice is said to grant desired aims (sarvakāma), while offerings to the Śāntātīya host are explicitly linked to pacification and inner/outer peace (śānti).
