FAQs

It teaches an abhicāra-style prayoga: measuring and preparing an eleven-aṅgula stake (iron/khadira) and implanting it in an enemy’s dwelling while reciting a harm-directing mantra.

Alongside dharma, worship, and arts, the Agni Purana also catalogs pragmatic ritual technologies—here, a precise, measurement-based mantra-rite—showing its wide coverage of applied religious procedures.

As an abhicāra (coercive) act, it is traditionally considered spiritually risky and karma-laden, intended for hostile conflict scenarios; later dharma discussions typically warn that such acts can rebound without restraint, purity, and rightful cause.
