सकलादिमन्त्रोद्धारः (Sakalādi-mantra-uddhāra) — Chapter Colophon/Transition
द्वारं पद्ममितं कोष्ठादुपद्वारं विवर्णितम् द्वारोपद्वाररचितं मण्डलं विघ्नसूदनम्
dvāraṃ padmamitaṃ koṣṭhādupadvāraṃ vivarṇitam dvāropadvāraracitaṃ maṇḍalaṃ vighnasūdanam
Lord Agni (teaching the sage Vasiṣṭha in the Agni Purana’s instructional dialogue)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Sandhi Resolution Notes: koṣṭhādupadvāraṃ → koṣṭhāt + upa-dvāram (t + u → du by sandhi); dvāropadvāraracitaṃ → dvāra-upadvāra-racitam.
It teaches Vastu-shastra procedure: fixing door and sub-door proportions (using the ‘padma’ module) and deriving a protective mandala layout termed Vighnasūdana to neutralize obstacles in a structure.
Beyond theology, it preserves applied architectural science—standardized measurement modules and apotropaic (protective) diagrammatics—showing how the Agni Purana functions as a multi-disciplinary manual spanning ritual, design, and building practice.
Correctly proportioned doorways and the Vighnasūdana mandala are presented as spiritually protective—meant to avert impediments (vighna), promote auspicious entry, and maintain ritual purity and harmony in the dwelling or temple.
