ātmā yatno dhṛtirvuddhiḥ svabhāvo brahmavarṣma ca utthānaṃ pauruṣe tantre vyutthānaṃ pratirodhane

It defines the components of effective initiative (utthāna) in the pauruṣa framework—agency, effort, fortitude, discernment, temperament, and spiritual vigor—and explains how the same becomes organized counter-action (vyutthāna) when facing opposition.
Beyond ritual and theology, it preserves a compact niti/rajanīti definition-set: psychological and strategic terms (utthāna, vyutthāna, pratirodha) are treated like technical categories, reflecting the Agni Purana’s wide coverage of governance and applied ethics.
It frames right action as rooted in inner discipline and brahmic strength, implying that dharmic success in worldly duties arises from purified agency and steadfast effort—especially when confronting obstacles without abandoning righteousness.
