FAQs

Ayurvedic bhaiṣajya-vidyā: a practical compound remedy (yoga) using madhuka with honey, pippalī with sugar, nāgara with jaggery, and lāvaṇa-traya as an anti-hiccup (hikkāghna) preparation.

It shows the Agni Purana’s encyclopedic scope by embedding applied Ayurveda—specific ingredients, combinations, and therapeutic indication (hiccups)—alongside its broader religious, ritual, and dharma topics.

While primarily medical, such prescriptions support dharma by preserving health and vitality, enabling steadiness in japa, pūjā, and daily duties; healing is treated as a supportive means to righteous living.
