Concept: Prāyaścitta restores ritual and moral order; pūrṇāhuti signifies saṃpūrṇatā (completion) and reconciliation of doṣa.
Application: When a pūjā/homa is interrupted or errors occur, conclude with prescribed expiatory steps and a proper pūrṇāhuti rather than leaving the rite ‘open’.

Related Themes: Agni Purāṇa 36 (homa and prāyaścitta closures; pūrṇāhuti rules)
It prescribes an expiatory homa sequence: offer into the fire, worship Agni’s associated powers and Viṣṇu with a pavitraka-based purification, and conclude with the pūrṇāhuti as the decisive expiatory act.
It functions as a compact ritual manual entry—codifying practical homa steps, deity-invocation order, and the technical role of pūrṇāhuti—showing the text’s breadth beyond myth into procedural liturgy.
The verse frames pūrṇāhuti, preceded by worship and purification, as a root-level expiation (prāyaścitta) intended to cleanse ritual fault and restore spiritual purity and merit.
