Agastya
Tirtha: Ayodhyā tīrtha-jala (unspecified water-source)
Type: ghat
Listener: Primary audience within the Purāṇic narration (contextual); immediate addressee is the narrative frame, while action is toward the Yakṣa
Scene: Agastya, eyes half-closed in meditation, assesses the yakṣa with compassionate discernment and begins the abhiṣeka rite, lifting a vessel of tīrtha-water.
Meditative discernment joined with devotion becomes a channel for compassionate, transformative action.
Ayodhyā’s tīrtha-tradition is the setting; the consecration rite signals the sanctity of local sacred waters.
Abhiṣeka (consecratory bathing), performed as a purificatory rite for removing affliction.
