वसिष्ठ उवाच । यदि तुष्टो महादेव वरो देयो ममाधुना । तदाऽत्र भवता स्थेयं यावदाचंद्रतारकम्
vasiṣṭha uvāca | yadi tuṣṭo mahādeva varo deyo mamādhunā | tadā'tra bhavatā stheyaṃ yāvadācaṃdratārakam
Disse Vasiṣṭha: Se estás satisfeito, ó Mahādeva (Śiva), concede-me agora uma dádiva: que permaneças aqui até o tempo da lua e das estrelas—enquanto elas perdurarem.
