अस्मिन्स्थाने सदा तिष्ठ मुनीनां हितकाम्यया । कंटकाः शोषिता दैत्यास्तेन कंटकशोषिणी । अद्यप्रभृति नामास्तु तेन देवि सदा त्विह
asminsthāne sadā tiṣṭha munīnāṃ hitakāmyayā | kaṃṭakāḥ śoṣitā daityāstena kaṃṭakaśoṣiṇī | adyaprabhṛti nāmāstu tena devi sadā tviha
«Permanece para sempre neste lugar, ó Deusa, desejando o bem dos munis. Pois, tendo tu ressequido (aniquilado) os daityas, esses “espinhos”, que aqui o teu nome seja “Kaṇṭakaśoṣiṇī”, “Aquela que resseca os espinhos”. Desde hoje em diante, ó Devi, seja esse o teu nome, e permanece aqui eternamente.»
