Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (Pārvatī)
Scene: A diverse group of pilgrims—brāhmaṇa, kṣatriya, vaiśya, śūdra—stand at Prabhāsa with folded hands; above them symbolic figures of anger and greed subdued underfoot; the sea-horizon and a distant Somnath-like shrine suggest the kṣetra’s sanctity.
Inner victory over anger, greed, and the senses—along with freedom from hypocrisy and envy—makes one truly qualified for tīrtha merit.
The virtues are described in the context of Prabhāsa Māhātmya as the qualifications to receive Prabhāsa’s fruit.
A moral-ascetic prescription is given: cultivate self-control and sincerity as the foundation for successful pilgrimage and worship.
