Skanda Purana — Prabhasa Khanda, Shloka 31
नैव तस्य परोलोको नायं लोको दुरात्मनः । अथ चेत्प्रतिगृह्णाति ब्राह्मणो वृत्तिदुर्बलः । दशांशमर्जिताद्दद्यादेवं तत्र न हीयते
naiva tasya paroloko nāyaṃ loko durātmanaḥ | atha cetpratigṛhṇāti brāhmaṇo vṛttidurbalaḥ | daśāṃśamarjitāddadyādevaṃ tatra na hīyate
Para esse homem de mente perversa não há mundo futuro, nem mesmo este mundo lhe traz bem verdadeiro. Mas, se um brāhmaṇa, fraco de sustento, tiver de aceitar uma dádiva, que ofereça a décima parte do que ganhar; assim, nesse lugar sagrado, não sofre perda espiritual.

Scene: At Prabhāsa, a humble brāhmaṇa with sparse belongings accepts alms only out of necessity, then offers a measured tenth into a dāna-vessel before a shrine, while a darker figure symbolizes the ‘durātmā’ who clings to gain and loses both worlds.
