Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (Pārvatī)
Scene: A calm doctrinal dialogue: Devī, seated respectfully, asks Īśvara about the fine distinctions of what should and should not be given; the setting evokes Prabhāsa’s sanctity with a distant liṅga and sea-breeze ambience.
Dharma requires discernment: charity must be understood in its proper forms, limits, and intentions—not merely performed mechanically.
The conversation is embedded in the Prabhāsakṣetra Māhātmya, the glorification-cycle of Prabhāsa.
An inquiry is raised about dāna/adāna classifications—preparing for detailed rules on charitable giving.
