De uma vaca que dá leite—mesmo que seja malhada—todo ghee produzido do seu leite é chamado “dauhitṛa”. Esse ghee é louvado tanto nas oferendas aos deuses quanto nos ritos aos ancestrais.
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) speaking to the sages (deduced from Purāṇic narration style within māhātmya sections)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Scene: A ritual kitchen/altar scene: milk from a cow is churned into ghee; the priest labels the clarified butter as ‘dauhitṛa’ and pours it into a ladle for deva-homa and into śrāddha offerings for pitṛs.
Ritual offerings gain full merit when made with properly approved, pure substances—especially in deva- and pitṛ-rites.
Prabhāsa-kṣetra (the sacred region praised in the Prabhāsakṣetramāhātmya of the Skanda Purāṇa).
Use ghee prepared from the milk of a milk-giving cow as an especially approved offering for both divine worship and śrāddha (ancestral rites).
