brahmovāca | avadhyaḥ sa tu sarveṣāṃ devānāmiti me matiḥ | ṛte tu śāṃkaraṃ tejo nānyena vinipātyate | tasmādgacchata bhadraṃ vo devadevaṃ maheśvaram
Tirtha: Maheśvara / Somnātha (Śiva) as the refuge-point in Prabhāsa frame
Type: temple
Listener: Devas
Scene: Brahmā, serene and authoritative, declares Tāraka invincible to devas and directs them to Maheśvara; devas’ faces shift from despair to hope as the path of refuge is revealed.
Ultimate refuge and ultimate power rest in Maheśvara; divine order is restored through Śiva’s grace and śakti.
The verse is doctrinal and narrative; its setting is within Prabhāsa Kṣetra Māhātmya, while pointing devotionally toward Maheśvara.
A practical prescription of action is given: approach and propitiate Maheśvara (Śiva) for resolution.
