पुराणमेकमेवासीत्तस्मिन्कल्पान्तरेतथा । त्रिवर्गसाधनं पुण्यं शतकोटिप्रविस्तरम्
purāṇamekamevāsīttasminkalpāntaretathā | trivargasādhanaṃ puṇyaṃ śatakoṭipravistaram
Naquele ciclo de era anterior, o Purāṇa era verdadeiramente um só. Era sagrado, meio para realizar os três fins da vida, e vastíssimo—estendendo-se a cem koṭi (de versos/medida).
