पितुर्गेहे तु या कन्या रजः पश्यत्यसंस्कृता । ब्रह्महत्या पितुस्तस्य सा कन्या वृषली स्मृता
piturgehe tu yā kanyā rajaḥ paśyatyasaṃskṛtā | brahmahatyā pitustasya sā kanyā vṛṣalī smṛtā
«A donzela que, ainda não casada (não consagrada pelo rito nupcial), vê a menstruação na casa do pai—diz-se que para esse pai é como o pecado de matar um brâmane; e essa moça é lembrada como “vṛṣalī”.»
