Type: kshetra
Scene: A guru imparts the ‘Agni is ash…’ formula to an initiated disciple; behind them, the five elements dissolve into a serene ash-colored cosmic field, symbolizing pralaya and detachment.
The ash-teaching conveys impermanence and Śaiva renunciation, and it is treated as initiatory knowledge requiring dīkṣā.
Prabhāsa Kṣetra, within the Pāśupateśvara Māhātmya’s Śaiva ritual-philosophy.
Use/handling of these ash-mantras is restricted: the uninitiated (nādīkṣita) should not employ them.
