अथ पौरजना दृष्ट्वा रावणं राक्षसेश्वरम् । सर्वदिक्षु वरारोहे भयाद्भीताः प्रदुद्रुवुः
atha paurajanā dṛṣṭvā rāvaṇaṃ rākṣaseśvaram | sarvadikṣu varārohe bhayādbhītāḥ pradudruvuḥ
Então, ó Senhora de belas ancas, os habitantes da cidade, ao verem Rāvaṇa—senhor dos rākṣasas—tomados de medo, fugiram em todas as direções.
