Pulastya
Tirtha: Raktānubandha
Type: kund
Scene: Sage Pulastya, radiant and austere, points toward a crimson-tinged sacred waterbody named Raktānubandha; a pilgrim performs a careful bath with folded hands, suggesting expiation of brahmahatyā.
Pilgrimage is presented as dharmic medicine: sincere tīrtha-snāna can function as powerful prāyaścitta for even grave sins.
Raktānubandha, a tīrtha said to be renowned across the three worlds.
Snāna (ritual bathing) performed properly at Raktānubandha tīrtha.
