एवं तस्य व्रतस्थस्य जग्मुर्वर्षशतानि च । तत्र भीतास्ततो देवा ब्रह्मविष्णुपुरःसराः
evaṃ tasya vratasthasya jagmurvarṣaśatāni ca | tatra bhītāstato devā brahmaviṣṇupuraḥsarāḥ
Assim, enquanto ele permanecia firme em seu voto, passaram-se centenas de anos. Então os deuses—tendo Brahmā e Viṣṇu à frente—ficaram tomados de temor por causa daquela austeridade.
