Type: kshetra
Scene: Gaurī, luminous and compassionate, extends her hand to touch a distressed woman; at the moment of contact, the woman’s form becomes radiant and youthful, with divine ornaments appearing.
Divine compassion (anugraha) can instantly transform suffering into auspiciousness through the Goddess’s grace.
The narrative supports the māhātmya of the tīrtha later named Śarmiṣṭhātīrtha.
No direct rite is prescribed here; it narrates the divine act establishing the tīrtha’s sanctity.
