Então ele empreendeu abundante austeridade (tapas), livre de todos os obstáculos; e depois alcançou a brahminidade (brāhmaṇya), difícil de obter para todos.
Mārkaṇḍeya (continuing narration)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Viśvāmitra in deep austerity—standing or seated in meditation—surrounded by a calm forest; obstacles (dark forms) recede, while a radiant thread of brahminical light (brahma-tejas) rises around him.
When obstacles are removed, sustained tapas becomes fruitful, culminating in rare spiritual attainment.
The teaching is embedded in the Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra-māhātmya narrative frame of the Nāgarakhaṇḍa.
No new rite is prescribed here; it describes the fruit—obstacle-free austerity and attainment—following proper worship.
