aho me tanayo'bhīṣṭaḥ kathamadya na dṛśyate | kūpāṃtaḥ patitaḥ kiṃ nu kiṃ vyālairvā nipātitaḥ

Ai de mim! Meu filho amado—por que hoje não se vê? Terá caído num poço, ou terá sido abatido por feras?
