Type: ghat
Listener: Rāma (addressed as Kākutstha-sattama) and Lakṣmaṇa
Scene: Mārkaṇḍeya narrates: at this very ford Indra once washed away sin after harming Diti’s embryo; the tīrtha glows with maternal grace; he urges swift travel and bathing.
Even heavy sin is curable through a divinely sanctioned tīrtha when approached with urgency, faith, and proper rite.
Bālamaṇḍana Tīrtha (the ‘there’ where Indra became sinless).
To go swiftly to the tīrtha and perform snāna for purification.
