Transliteration

mahāsatī mahābhāgā sāvitrī sā pativratā | pūjyā ca sarvadevānāṃ jyeṣṭhā śreṣṭhā ca sadgaṇaiḥ

Translation

Sāvitrī é uma grande senhora casta e bem-aventurada, firme no voto de fidelidade conjugal. É digna de veneração por todos os deuses, tida como a mais antiga e a melhor entre as nobres assembleias.
