Transliteration

etasmātkāraṇāddharmyaṃ mayā tyaktaṃ dvijottamāḥ | mokṣamārgārgalā bhūtaṃ dṛṣṭvā sarpaviceṣṭitam

Translation

Por esta mesma razão, ó melhores entre os duas-vezes-nascidos, abandonei aquela vida doméstica tida por “respeitável”, ao ver a ação da serpente, que se tornara um ferrolho a barrar o caminho da libertação (moksha).
