Type: kshetra
Listener: dvijottamāḥ (assembled brāhmaṇas)
Scene: Sūta addressing an attentive circle of brāhmaṇas; behind the narration, a symbolic tableau of the second day of yajña on Dvādāśī with devas gathering in the sky.
Sacred time (tithi) and sacred action (yajña) converge, and divine wonder manifests where dharma is performed in a consecrated place.
The continuing setting is the Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra Māhātmya within Nāgara-khaṇḍa.
No direct injunction; it situates the rites on Dvādaśī and introduces a devas-related marvel occurring during the yajña.
