अथ सीता परित्यक्ता तथा भ्राता स लक्ष्मणः । यदर्थं तत्र संप्राप्तः स्वयमेव द्विजोत्तमाः
atha sītā parityaktā tathā bhrātā sa lakṣmaṇaḥ | yadarthaṃ tatra saṃprāptaḥ svayameva dvijottamāḥ
“Assim, Sītā foi afastada, e também meu irmão Lakṣmaṇa. Por essa mesma razão vim aqui eu mesmo, ó melhor entre os duas-vezes-nascidos.”
