विषण्णमनसो देवाः समहेंद्रास्तदाभवन् । जातामात्रस्तु दैत्येंद्रस्तारकश्चंडविक्रमः
viṣaṇṇamanaso devāḥ samaheṃdrāstadābhavan | jātāmātrastu daityeṃdrastārakaścaṃḍavikramaḥ
Então os deuses—com Indra entre eles—ficaram de coração pesado. Pois Tāraka, feroz em valor, desde o instante em que nasceu já era o senhor dos Daityas.
