Śiva (as Liṅga)
Tirtha: Hayagrīva Tīrtha (within Kāśī region)
Type: ghat
Scene: A confluence zone on the Gaṅgā with swirling currents; pilgrims perform snāna and offer arghya; a sign or shrine indicates ‘Hayagrīva Tīrtha’ as a more potent spot beyond the sangam.
Purāṇic sacred geography ranks holy spots, teaching that certain confluences and tīrthas intensify the fruit of pilgrimage.
Hayagrīva Tīrtha in Kāśī is singled out as exceptionally merit-bestowing, beyond even a sacred confluence in the Gaṅgā.
The verse implies tīrtha-sevā (pilgrimage/bathing/visitation) by praising the puṇya of confluence and the Hayagrīva Tīrtha.
