भारद्वाजस्य तनयो दमनो नाम नामतः । कृतमौंजीविधिः सोथ विद्याजातं प्रगृह्य च
bhāradvājasya tanayo damano nāma nāmataḥ | kṛtamauṃjīvidhiḥ sotha vidyājātaṃ pragṛhya ca
Damana, filho de Bhāradvāja, assim chamado; depois de cumprir devidamente o rito do cordão sagrado (mauñjī) e de tomar para si as disciplinas do estudo, seguiu adiante em seu caminho.
