पितृगेहे तु या कन्या रजः पश्येदसंस्कृता । भ्रूणहा तत्पिता ज्ञेयो वृषली सापि कन्यका

pitṛgehe tu yā kanyā rajaḥ paśyedasaṃskṛtā | bhrūṇahā tatpitā jñeyo vṛṣalī sāpi kanyakā

Se uma donzela, ainda não purificada pelos ritos devidos (isto é, não casada), vê a menstruação na casa do pai, deve-se saber que esse pai é como quem destrói um embrião; e essa jovem também é tida por decaída de seu devido estado.
