ईश्वर उवाच । याचयाभीप्सितं कार्यं तुष्टोऽहं तव सुव्रत । देवस्य वचनं श्रुत्वा चिन्तयामास दानवः
īśvara uvāca | yācayābhīpsitaṃ kāryaṃ tuṣṭo'haṃ tava suvrata | devasya vacanaṃ śrutvā cintayāmāsa dānavaḥ
Īśvara disse: «Pede o dom que desejas; estou satisfeito contigo, ó homem de bons votos.» Ouvindo as palavras do Senhor, o demônio pôs-se a ponderar.
