Type: kshetra
Scene: A donor makes a solemn promise to a brāhmaṇa, then turns away; another scene shows a host calling a petitioner and then dismissing him. The underworld consequence is shown as an unending dwelling in a bleak punitive enclosure.
Integrity is dharma: breaking a promise of charity and deceiving those you summon produces lasting negative consequences.
Within Revā-māhātmya, the moral code is presented as inseparable from the river’s sacred power.
Dāna as a vowed act: if promised, it must be fulfilled—especially when pledged to a brāhmaṇa.
