उपमन्युतपः-निवारणप्रसङ्गः / Śiva restrains Upamanyu’s tapas (Śiva disguised as Indra)
Vayu
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
The verse highlights bhakti as a disciplining power: devotion to Pati (Śiva) naturally produces humility (kṛtāñjali) and self-restraint, loosening the bonds (pāśa) that bind the soul (paśu).
Although the Liṅga is not named here, the statement “my devotion is in Śiva” reflects steadfast orientation to Saguna Śiva—personal Lordship—through whom the devotee steadies mind and action, a core intent behind Liṅga-upāsanā in the Purāṇa.
The practical takeaway is inner restraint supported by devotion—commonly cultivated through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and prayer with añjali (folded hands), aligning conduct with Śiva-bhakti.
