Então, ao término da āvaraṇa-pūjā (o culto ao séquito divino), tendo honrado plenamente o Senhor Supremo, deve-se oferecer com devoção o havis—agradável e deleitoso ao coração—junto com ghee.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Sthala Purana: Ritual conclusion (āvaraṇa-pūjā-anta) culminating in direct worship of Parameśvara and offering of havis with ghee—typical of Śaiva pūjā integrating yajña-language.
Significance: Teaches pūjā-sampatti: after honoring parivāra/āvaraṇa, the devotee offers the principal oblation to Śiva; this completion is said to make worship ‘hṛdya’ (heart-pleasing) and conducive to grace.
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It teaches that outer ritual completeness (āvaraṇa-pūjā) should culminate in a heartfelt offering to Parameśvara Śiva—devotion (bhakti) is the inner essence that makes the havis spiritually efficacious.
After honouring the associated deities/energies around the main shrine (āvaraṇa), the worshipper offers havis to the central Saguna focus—Śiva as Parameśvara—affirming the Linga as the primary seat of grace while the retinue worship supports it.
Conclude the sequence of worship by offering a ghee-accompanied havis with devotion; practically, this aligns with naivedya/homa-style offering while mentally surrendering the act to Śiva as the Lord who accepts the offering and grants purification.
