FAQs

The verse presents creation as not only the manifestation of physical forms (mountains, oceans, trees) but also the establishment of Kāla (cosmic time). In a Shaiva Siddhanta lens, time is part of the bound order that structures experience; liberation is attained by turning to Pati (Śiva), who transcends and governs time.

By highlighting Kāla as a created cosmic principle, the verse points the devotee toward the timeless Lord who is worshiped as the Linga—Śiva as the stable, all-pervading ground of the changing universe. Linga worship trains attention from changing forms and time-bound cycles toward the eternal reality of Śiva.

A practical takeaway is daily japa of the Panchākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with awareness of time’s cycles—using fixed sandhyā times for discipline—along with simple Linga worship (water/abhisheka) to contemplate the timeless Lord beyond yugas.
