Suta Goswami (traditional Purāṇic colophon context, concluding narration to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Sthala Purana: Colophon (iti) marking the completion of the chapter on Śiva-pūjā-vidhi; not tied to a single jyotirliṅga site.
Significance: Textual tīrtha: hearing/reciting the chapter-colophon is traditionally considered completion-merit (pāraṇa-phala) and seals the ritual instruction as a whole.
This is a colophon marking the completion of a chapter that codifies Śiva-pūjā as a direct, grace-oriented path: disciplined worship of Saguna Śiva (especially through the Liṅga) purifies the soul and prepares it for Śiva’s anugraha (liberating favor).
By naming the chapter as “Śiva-pūjā-vidhi-varṇana,” it frames Liṅga/Saguna-Śiva worship as an authoritative, prescribed practice within the creation narrative—showing that proper ritual devotion is integral to dharma and spiritual ascent.
While this line itself is a concluding marker, it points to the completed teaching on Śiva-pūjā-vidhi—typically including mantra-japa (often the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), offerings to the Liṅga, and purity disciplines such as bhasma and devotion-centered meditation.
