A mulher virtuosa deve permanecer de ânimo igual na prosperidade e na adversidade. Firme na fortaleza, não deve jamais, em situação alguma, permitir que se deturpe a sua própria natureza interior.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Shiva Purana’s Parvati Khanda teachings to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It teaches śaiva dharma through equanimity (samatā): the devotee preserves inner purity and steadiness in both gain and loss, which supports bhakti and loosens pāśa (bondage) that arises from agitation, fear, and craving.
Linga-worship trains the mind toward one-pointed devotion; this verse emphasizes keeping the same devotional disposition in all circumstances, so worship of Saguna Shiva is not conditional on comfort but remains constant, mirroring the Lord’s steady grace.
Practice daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a vow of composure—especially during hardship—along with simple Śiva-pūjā (water offering and Tripuṇḍra/bhasma remembrance) to stabilize the mind and sustain dhairya.
