Narration of Kārttikeya’s Divine Play
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
The verse highlights humility and truthful self-identification: spiritual elevation is tied to dharma, service, and discipline rather than mere labels—an ethic consistent with Shaiva Siddhanta’s stress on purification (śuddhi) and right conduct as supports for grace.
Though the verse is not directly about Liṅga worship, it frames the devotional attitude needed for Saguna Shiva worship—reverence, service, and readiness for inner transformation, which are foundational for receiving Shiva’s anugraha (grace).
The practical takeaway is sevā and vrata-like discipline: approach Shiva’s worship with humility, serve the wise and dharmic, and support practice with steady tapas—commonly expressed in Shaiva life through japa (e.g., Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and regulated conduct.
