Vāyu

Este breve hino convida Vāyu, o Vento veloz, ao prensar do Soma, chamando-o repetidas vezes a vir em seu carro refulgente para beber o Soma recém-prensado. Ele liga o correto arranjo ritual (hotrā) à chegada da vitalidade divina e pede a Vāyu que traga ao sacrificante abundância, força e riquezas amplas e expansivas.

Mantra 1
विहि होत्रा अवीता विपो न रायो अर्यः । वायवा चन्द्रेण रथेन याहि सुतस्य पीतये ॥
Dispõe as duas oblações, ó auxiliador — como um vidente para as nobres plenitudes. Ó Vāyu, vem em teu carro refulgente ao beber do Soma espremido.

निर्युवाणो अशस्तीर्नियुत्वाँ इन्द्रसारथिः । वायवा चन्द्रेण रथेन याहि सुतस्य पीतये ॥
Expulsando as falsidades, jungido a potências ordenadas, com Indra por cocheiro — ó Vāyu, vem em teu carro refulgente ao beber do Soma espremido.

अनु कृष्णे वसुधिती येमाते विश्वपेशसा । वायवा चन्द्रेण रथेन याहि सुतस्य पीतये ॥
Seguindo os escuros, os dois tesouros da riqueza se estendem em todas as suas formas; ó Vāyu, vem em teu carro refulgente ao beber do Soma espremido.

वहन्तु त्वा मनोयुजो युक्तासो नवतिर्नव । वायवा चन्द्रेण रथेन याहि सुतस्य पीतये ॥
Que te conduzam os corcéis jungidos pela mente, noventa e nove. Ó Vāyu, vem em teu carro de brilho lunar ao beber do Soma espremido.

वायो शतं हरीणां युवस्व पोष्याणाम् । उत वा ते सहस्रिणो रथ आ यातु पाजसा ॥
Ó Vāyu, regozija-te com os cem corcéis luminosos do incremento; ou então que teu carro miliforme venha aqui com sua força flamejante.
