तवाग्ने होत्रं तव पोत्रमृत्वियं तव नेष्ट्रं त्वमग्निदृतायतः । तव प्रशास्त्रं त्वमध्वरीयसि ब्रह्मा चासि गृहपतिश्च नो दमे ॥

Transliteration

távāgne hótraṃ táva pótram ṛtviyáṃ táva néṣṭraṃ tvám agníd ṛtá-yataḥ | táva pra-śā́straṃ tvám adhvarīyasi brahmā́ cā́si gṛhá-patiś ca no dám e ||

Translation

Teu, ó Agni, é o ofício do Hotṛ; teu o do Potṛ no tempo devido; tua é a condução (Neṣṭṛ), e tu és o Agnīdh que firma o rito na verdade. Tua é a palavra que orienta; tu mesmo te tornas Adhvaryu. És também o Brahman e o senhor da casa na nossa morada.
